Dodge’s plans to launch the Dart are right on schedule says the company.
It plans to create 2,000 Darts in May and another 8,000 in June at Chrysler’s Illinois assembly plant. By late summer, workers will be building 10,000 to 12,000 Darts per month. Some
of these models will be exported to about 40 other countries, including Canada and Mexico.
The Dodge Dart is expected to be the company’s most competitive compact car since the Dodge Neon launched in the early 1990s.
Chrysler is hoping the Dart will appeal to young buyers because of its low starting price, great fuel economy and its use in motorsports activities.
The Dart will be released to dealers throughout the U.S. and should be available at all dealers by end of June.
