Past Figures, Present Rides: Abraham Lincoln

Abraham Lincoln and the Lincoln Navigator

Four score and seven months ago I, Abraham Lincoln, found favor with a new vehicle whose moniker coincidentally matched my own. In my humble opinion there is no finer automobile in all thirty-six states than the Lincoln Navigator.

The cabin is quite suitable for a man of my stature. I suppose that an even taller gentleman would still find the generous leg room to be more than sufficient for long distance travel. Neither my wife nor children have ever given any qualms as to comfort during transport given that the interior seating is quite forgiving to the bottom.

Whenever I must make a public appearance, there is no more grandiose entrance then to step down elegantly from the helm of my pearly Navigator.  If a trip to Ford Theatre is in order, Mary demands that we travel in the Lincoln. She insists that the ride is smoother still than velvet and the interior more luxurious than beaver pelt.

As quite an accomplished wrestler in my home state of Kentucky, I know rugged performance when I see it. The Navigator’s V8 powerhouse has gotten me out of many a sticky predicament on some relatively unkempt roads. My relatives who own horses are jealous of the 310 that I have under the hood and I cannot count the number of times that a fine gentlemen will stop to ask about buying my prized vehicle for quite a hefty sum.

Many who know me claim that I am as honest as a Texas sundown. Heed my honest words when I say that the Lincoln Navigator is fit even for one of Presidential status.

Background Information:

Abraham Lincoln is most famous for his work as the 16th president of the U.S. His most famous speech Gettysburg Address, Lincoln invoked the principles of human equality and redefined the Civil War as a struggle for “a new birth of freedom” that would bring true equality to all its citizens. President Lincoln’s assassination made him a national martyr and endowed him with recognition of mythic proportion.
