More than 7,000 Nissan LEAF drivers around the country have the opportunity to celebrate National Plug-In Day on October 16th. This first-of-its-kind event is a gathering of owners of the Nissan LEAF and other electric cars in 26 cities around the U.S.
“Today thousands of drivers have chosen to go all-electric, with many more to come. We applaud the organizers of National Plug-In Day and encourage LEAF drivers across the country to take part in Sunday’s festivities and show their support for this growing movement,” said Brian Carolin, senior vice president, sales and marketing, Nissan North America.
National Plug-In Day champions the benefits of plug-in vehicles. In Los Angeles, New York and many other cities in between, EV owners and enthusiasts will participate in electric car parades, “tailpipe-free” tailgate parties, lectures and other grassroots events. If you would like more information about how to participate, please visit www.PlugInAmerica.org/PlugInDay.
The week of National Plug-In Day will culminate with the October 21 theatrical premier of the documentary Revenge of the Electric Car, which prominently features the development of the Nissan LEAF.
