Ever dream of driving a Lamborghini or maybe a Bentley but lack the funds to make it a reality?  Well you are in luck.  A new service called HiGear, based in San Francisco, is taking the car-sharing concept to a new level.  Giving drivers the opportunity to rent privately-owned luxury and sport cars, HiGear is making many a dream come true.  The concept is pretty clever.  HiGear partners with the car owners, who receive 70% of the rental fees in return for renting their car out for a short period of time, typically three days. 

So far 200 vehicle owners have agreed to rent their cars and 3,100 customers have signed up in the San Francisco area.  HiGear is also planning on expanding to five more cities by the end of the year including Los Angeles, San Diego and Portland.  HiGear handles providing insurance coverage and all the logistics, including member screening, so that both vehicle owners and drivers can enjoy the private car-sharing club experience to the fullest.
