The Frankfurt Auto Show kicked off yesterday with visits by the media to check out all the new models, concepts, and technology the automakers have to show! In its 64th year the Frankfurt Auto Show is one of the most anticipated auto shows of the year. Automakers use this show to reveal their newest models, great ideas, and most innovative technology.

Ford Wow’s the Crows with New Performance Vehicles
Ford is using the Frankfurt auto show to reveal two new performance vehicles – the Focus ST and Fiesta ST Concept. Both vehicles are equipped with Ford’s EcoBoost engine matched to a specially revised six-speed manual transmission. The new engine delivers optimum horsepower and torque, yet helps reduce CO2 emissions and fuel consumption by more than 20%.
The Fiesta is able to go from 0 to 60 in less than seven seconds while at the same time reducing CO2 emissions. Both of these new Ford performance vehicles are equipped for speed as well as fuel efficiency.
Jeep Brings the Star of the Auto Show
The all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 is a high-performance vehicle that is a flagship for the Jeep brand. The all-new SRT8 model includes a 6.4-Liter HEMI V8 engine able to produce up to 470-horspower. The new generation of Grand Cherokee SRT8 is the most powerfully and high-speed Jeep vehicle ever produced, boasting the performance of an authentic super-car.
Hyundai Unveils Newest Generation
The newest generation unveiled by Hyundai at the auto show was the all-new i30 vehicle. Hyundai expects the new-generation i30 will build on the success of the original model thanks to enhanced design, quality, performance, and efficiency. The new-generation i30 will go on sale in Europe in early 2012 and represents the evolution of the Hyundai form language, “fluidic sculpture.” Upgraded with a super-efficient 1.6-liter diesel engine the all-new i30 keeps its CO2 emissions under 100 g/km.
Volkswagen Debuts the Newest ‘R’ Concept
At Volkswagen, the letter “R” promises top-notch performance and the world debut of the Beetle R promises to be no different. As of right now the Beetle R Concept is still a design study, but those familiar with the Beetle Turbo know that the car could offer even more performance. The Beetle R Concept is equipped with 20-inch aluminum alloy-wheels and redesigned front and rear bumpers that have been widened by 1.2 inches. The exhaust system also includes two sets of dual chrome tailpipes. This new Volkswagen concept is sure to turn heads when it does reach production status.
