This year at the 17th X-Games Ford took the top three spots in RallyCross beating out makers like Subaru, Mitsubishi, Citroen, and Hyundai. The three Ford Fiestas were driven by Brian Deegan who took first, Tanner Foust who took second, and Marcus Gronholm who took third. Rally Car superstar Ken Block, also a Ford Fiesta driver, was forced out of the race early due to mechanical trouble.
Even with Ken Block out of the final race, the competition was stiff with fan favorite Travis Pastrana driving a Subaru Impreza WRX STI to fourth place despite having to use wheel mounted throttle controls in place of a traditional gas pedal, as he had broken his leg earlier in the X-Games. Rhys Millen, driving the Hyundai Veloster, Liam Doran driving a Citroen C4, Dave Mirra driving a Subaru Impreza WRX STI, and David Higgins in a Subaru rounded out the competition for the race.
With great drivers and great cars, the Ford Fiesta showed it had what it takes to keep itself ahead of the pack and proved it was the superior car with top notch drivers. Check highlights from the Rally Cross below!
