Five Rivers Metropark -- Ever on the quest to give back to the community, the CarLocate crew traveled to Five Rivers Metropark on July 8th to help keep the area park looking beautiful. Members of the team, volunteered their Friday afternoon to step out of the cool air-conditioned office and brave the scorching heat with nothing more than their green t-shirts and a can-do attitude.
While at the park, the green-clad crew was responsible for keeping the nursery pristine by trimming unwanted weeds such as Sweet Clover to prevent their rampant growth. During the tidying up of the area surrounding the infant plants, the CarLocate team was educated about the various flora that is indigenous to Ohio. After the work was completed, volunteers donated their sweat but gained back knowledge and the great feeling of satisfaction after helping others.
“It’s great to be able to help our community and the environment we live and work in through activities like this. It really puts things in perspective about how beautiful nature is and how we need to protect it. So it makes sense how CarLocate.com can help us specifically search for fuel efficient cars to help that cause!” said Carlocate crew member Matt Scruggs. Scruggs, who often plans and leads the volunteer effort, hopes to add even more monthly events that benefit the surrounding Dayton community.
