With its introduction in 2010, the Kia Sorento has been Kia’s best seller. The Sorento reached the level of best seller through its fun and entertaining “Joyride Dream” advertising campaign and quality engineering. The campaign created by David & Goliath advertising agency, featured children’s toys coming to life and taking the family’s Kia Sorento on a variety of crazy adventures like jet skiing and riding a mechanical bull at a bar. In the new advertisement the characters are up to activities like cruising around at the beach and skydiving.

One of the major features in these commercials are the characters and they feature Muno from the TV show “Yo GABBA GABBA”, a Sock Monkey, a robot, and a teddy bear. Another major feature of these commercials is the music. Featuring the popular song “How You Like Me Now” by The Heavy in the first commercial and the song “Red Light Love” by Those Darlins (who are a new, up and coming band) being featured in the new advertisement. The upbeat music and comical characters gives the “Joyride” commercials their light-hearted, feel good, family friendly feel.

The last key feature to what makes the Sorento a top seller is the CUV itself. The 2011 version won awards like “Best Family Car of 2011” by Parents magazine, a Consumer Guide “Best Buy” award, and an IIHS “Top Safety Pick”. The 2012 version features improved horsepower, fuel economy, and added technology. The Sorento now gets 191hp and 32mpg (highway) with its improved four-cylinder engine with Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI). New features are power folding mirrors, memory seats, ventilated and heated driver’s seat, wood trim steering wheel, Microsoft UVO hands free infotainment and communication system. With these new features and gang of life sized toys at the wheel the 2012 Sorento is headed in direction of being another top seller.
