Test Your Driving Knowledge

A recent survey test by GMAC, one of the largest automobile insurers in the US, showed that nearly 1 in 5 licensed drivers would fail a written driving test.

The average score of survey takers did increase from last year to 77.9%.  Good news for New York too, they no longer ranks as the worst performers on the survey.  They moved to 45th place after three consecutive years on the bottom.  This year the District of Columbia landed in last place, scoring 71.8%.

On the survey men also performed better than women, answering an average of 80.2% correct, while women scored 74.1%.

The exam is based on 20 questions taken from state Department of Motor Vehicle exams. Over 5,000 licensed drivers, ages 16-65 were polled.

Are you curious how you stack up against the rest of the country?  You can take the exam here!  But be advised, you will need to provide a name and email address before they show your score.
