Last Friday, the CarLocate Crew posted about Terrelle Pryor and problems at Ohio State University. This went along with the whole host of scandals involving Jim Tressel which had been reported by Sports Illustrated earlier that week. Now it seems that Pryor may have gotten the Nissan 350z illegitimately after all.
Earlier this week it Pryor’s attorney announced that Pryor was leaving OSU for the NFL. Shortly after that announcement a former friend of Pryor’s came to ESPN’s “Outside the Lines” and claimed that Pryor had given away signed memorabilia for cash a minimum of 35-40 times for a total of about $20,000-$40,000 during the 2009-2010 season. The source claimed Pryor got this money from photographer and businessman Dennis Talbott, who has denied the selling of memorabilia. Pryor’s attorney denied all these allegations.
In addition to the money given to him by Talbott, the former friend claimed Pryor received preferential treatment in the Columbus community receiving thousands of dollars in free food, free drinks, and free tattoos. Also, the source claimed that Pryor had access to free loaner cars from local dealerships.
Pryor issued a statement through his attorney in which he was leaving in “the best interests of my teammates”. If only Pryor had the best interests of his team in mind when he started his college football career, instead he unleashed a wave of scandals on the school and team that made him a football god in Columbus. In the end, Pryor’s legacy won’t be awards he won or the victories he fought for, his legacy will be that of another selfish athlete who put himself above his team and university.
