Subaru’s Fictional Car a Winner…Well at Least on the Internet

Subaru recently won a 2011 Webby and Gold medal from the International Automotive Advertising Awards for its “Mediocrity” campaign. The “Mediocrity” campaign poked fun at all of the bland and uninspired car styling nowadays by using a fictional car called Mediocrity that they rated “5 stars in predictability” and had features like, “four doors and headlights”.

Subaru even made a fully inactive website (www.2011mediocrity.com) to go along with the Facebook page, Twitter account, Flikr account, commercials, and Youtube videos they put out advertising this fictional car.

All of those ads were linked to the 2011 Subaru Legacy (an actual car) which was shown as a vibrant, dynamic, and fun to drive car that was blowing away “Mediocrity”.

The Carlocate.com Crew has found these videos to be hilarious and recommend you check out the new “2011 Mediocrity!" We ensure your expectations will be met, but not exceeded, and that it will leave you feeling apathetic.
