On Arbor Day, several members of the CarLocate Team loaded into a few vehicles and headed to Pondview Park to add a touch of color to the park’s entrance.
Equipped with gardening gloves, work pants, and matching CarLocate green work shirts, we began pulling out indicated weeds, particularly garlic mustard. In the weeds’ place, each of us grabbed a shovel and either a hazelnut or a dogwood tree and began digging away.
Once around 30 trees were planted, we headed into the woods to find some wildflowers – Jacobs Ladder, Trout Lilies, Virginia Bluebells, Wild Geraniums, Yellow Violets and more! We worked in pairs, transporting the wildflowers to the park’s entrance where the trees were previously planted – adding a dash of color and a wild life look.
The newly planted trees and flowers’ thirsts were quenched one by one as each team member ran to the pond filling water bottles, ending another successful environmental friendly action by the CarLocate Team.
A special thanks to Kerri Miles, the dedicated Pondview Park member who guided our efforts and let us give back.
