After receiving 20,000 reservations online last September Nissan stopped accepting reservations for its all-electric LEAF. On Sunday, May 1st Nissan will start taking reservations again.
This decision was made as Nissan accelerates its US launch and deliveries. Nissan expects to have delivered thousands of LEAFs by the end of the summer.
Reservations will first be available to consumers in the original launch states; Arizona, California, Hawaii, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, and Washington. Those who have already registered on the Nissan LEAF website will be given first opportunity to reserve a spot to purchase the LEAF.
More reservation lines will open this fall in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Maryland, South Carolina and Virginia and Nissan will open nationwide reservations in 2012.
Nissan’s newest LEAF campaign praises the “Value of Zero.” It is a celebration of the 100% electric Nissan LEAF which uses zero gas and emits zero tailpipe emissions.
