This week started the New York International Auto Show in New York City. This show is a perfect opportunity for automakers to debut their new models for the coming year as well as the concept vehicles they have been working on. We have put together a little sample of some of the
new models revealed yesterday at the show’s Press Preview.
2012 Subaru Impreza: Same All-Wheel Drive, New Fuel Efficiency
The 2012 Impreza was revealed in front of media and streaming live on the web for all the
Subaru fans to be a part of. The newest model is built with a 148-hp, 2.0L SUBARU BOXER engine design making fuel efficiency the biggest improvement for this year. The 2012 Impreza will get an estimated 36 MPGs compared to the
2011 Impreza which got only 27.
The Start of a New Generation: Mercedes-Benz A-Class
In 1993
Mercedes-Benz ventured into a new vehicle class- a new generation of smaller vehicles with expressive design. “The Concept A-Class introduces the new Mercedes-Benz design idiom into the premium small car segment in a sculptured, light and expressive interpretation.” The Concept A-Class is built with a 4-cylinder gas engine that has 210 horse-power.
Scion Introduces FR-S Sports Coupe Concept
The FR-S is
Scion’s definition of an authentic rear-wheel-drive sports car with compelling style, exceptionally balanced performance and handling, flexible utility and surprising MPG. The FR-S will inspire a new model coming to the Scion brand in 2012. The FR-S is Akio Toyoda’s idea of bringing “the fun-to-drive spirit back to Toyota.”
Volvo increases Power on two 2012 Models
The
2012 S60 and XC60 R-design models will get significant horsepower and torque increases when they go on sale this summer. Both models will be powered by
Volvo’s T6 engine, a turbocharged, inline six-cylinder engine that will produce 325 horsepower and 354 lb.-ft of torque. The two newest R-Design models will have a higher ‘fun-to-drive’ quotient.
