3 dead deer… 2 pairs of sunglasses… and 1 floppy disk
… and a cleaner Earth
As part of the ongoing efforts of the CarLocate Crew to extend an appreciation of the environment beyond just Earth Day, several Crew members woke up on a very cold, windy morning this past Saturday to participate in the 2011 Ohio State Roadway Cleanup.
The list above contains a few of the more interesting things the Crew saw as we picked up litter from the side of a highway in our hometown of Dayton, Ohio. (Note: We left the deer.)
In addition to the bags and bags of trash that we collected, we also collected a number of bags with items to be recycled. We certainly met our goal of making sure that we left the site in better condition than we found it.
A big shout-out to the other volunteers in Dayton and across Ohio who participated in the State Roadway Cleanup.
And, a tip of the hat to the Montgomery County Solid Waste District for managing the local portion of this statewide event, which was organized in conjunction with Keep Montgomery County Beautiful, Keep Ohio Beautiful, and the Ohio Department of Transportation.
