You might recall a few months ago when we told you about Mitsubishi offering the first-ever “online test drive” in the Mitsubishi Live Drive Event. Now, the folks over at AdFreak.com have clued us into an innovative new marketing idea from Volkswagen in Norway who is claiming to offer “the world’s first test drive inside a print ad.”
A special iPhone ap was created by mobile marketing agency Mobiento to let you “test drive” different features of VW cars by hovering your smartphone over the print ad. By doing so, you can check out how lane assist, adaptive headlights, and cruise control work.
No word on whether VW will bring this ad campaign to the U.S., so unless you have a friend in Norway who can send you one of the magazines this ad appears in, you’ll have to settle for watching the video.
