Some automakers offer deep discounts on cars during the holidays; however, for the past three years, Subaru has taken a different approach with its “Share the Love Event.” From Nov. 20, 2010, through Jan. 3, 2011, Subaru will donate $250 to charity for every new Subaru vehicle sold or leased. Buyers get to pick where the donation goes to from this list of five nonprofit organizations:
- The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA)
- Big Brothers Big Sisters
- Habitat for Humanity
- Meals On Wheels Association of America
- Ocean Conservancy
During the first two years of the Share the Love Event, Subaru has donated nearly $10 million on behalf of buyers to charities.
