General Motors announced today that the 36-year old Goodwrench service brand will be discontinued. The automaker will replace the Goodwrench brand with a Certified Service brand for each current GM nameplate: Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac.
"This is more than a name change,” said Steve Hill, vice president and general manager, GM Customer Care and Aftersales. “It is a declaration of our commitment to our customers, with exclusive vehicle diagnostics and connectivity via OnStar, competitively priced services and parts, increased advisor and technician training, and working jointly with our dealers to focus on customer satisfaction."
According to a news release from GM, the end of “Mr. Goodwrench” does not mean the end of quality service repairs. The automaker assured customers they still will receive competitive priced service work performed by trained repair experts at dealerships across the country. (Find a GM dealer.)
