Today, Audi announced that the Audi TT RS high-performance sport coupe will come to the U.S. automotive market by the third quarter of 2011.

Audi TT RS: High-performance Sport Coupe to Debut in U.S. in 2011
While the automaker already had been considering bringing the TT RS to America, the car company was swayed in the affirmative after, in only one month, more than 11,500 Audi fans on Facebook expressed their enthusiasm for bringing this car to the U.S. (Some praise for the TT RS from the American automotive media didn’t hurt either.)
“With performance and agility rooted in Audi motorsports success, the TT RS is truly an emotional sports car,” explained Johan de Nysschen, President, Audi of America. “That emotion became abundantly clear as we explored interest across the country.”
For now, only the coupe version of the TT RS will be coming to American shores. Pricing and specs are not finalized yet; however, the Audi TT RS should share key performance attributes with its European counterpart. The automaker has said that the car will come with the same, award-winning 2.5-liter TFSI, five-cylinder engine that generates 360 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque.
