Remember when going to the gas station meant having an attendant pump gas in your car, check your tire pressure, and clean the windshield at no extra cost? Probably not, but two luxury automakers are taking another page from the past and providing customers with free maintenance on their new vehicles. Moreover, the two brands, Lincoln and Cadillac, are both putting forth further initiatives to enhance their product line-ups and customer service.
Maintenance Programs
Lincoln will cover all scheduled maintenance for three years or 45,000 miles for all customers who purchase or lease a new Lincoln between now and Sept. 7, 2010. The scheduled maintenance, which is part of Lincoln’s U.S. customer program, includes all oil changes, tire rotations, routine inspections, and the replacement of wear items, including wiper blades and brake linings. These services typically are not covered by a new vehicle warranty.
“Our commitment is to further grow the Lincoln brand and offer our luxury customers the premium experience they deserve and expect,” said Ken Czubay, Ford Motor Company’s vice president of U.S. Marketing, Sales, and Service.
Cadillac also recently announced that it is launching a Premium Care Maintenance program, which mirrors the program Lincoln is providing. Frequently-required maintenance services will be provided to owners of all 2011 models for the first four years or 50,000 miles. Cadillac Premium Care Maintenance covers scheduled oil changes, tire rotations, replacement of engine and cabin air filters, and a multi-point vehicle inspection.
“Cadillac is adding Premium Care Maintenance as a way to extend customer service beyond the sale,” said Kurt McNeil, vice president of Cadillac Sales and Service. “The program is designed to raise satisfaction for owners by ensuring access to expert service.”
The CTS family, which is being expanded this year to include the all-new 2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe, is included under the program.
Improved Product Line-ups and Customer Service
As Ford Motor Company begins to wind down Mercury production and expand its Lincoln product development and marketing, sales, and service teams, the automaker has a number of plans underway including:
- Production of the first-ever Lincoln C-segment vehicle, called the Lincoln C Concept.
- Availability of EcoBoostTM engines in all Lincolns.
- Leadership in fuel economy with each new vehicle.
- More useful technology and features, such as fully retractable glass roofs, adaptive computer-controlled suspensions, electronic, push-button gear-selectors, active noise control, and MyLincoln TouchTM driver connect technology.
On a similar note, Cadillac has other customer service and ownership benefits, including:
- Five-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty along with standard 24/7 roadside assistance and courtesy transportation.
- Four-year, 50,000-mile vehicle bumper-to-bumper warranty coverage.
- Standard one-year OnStar Directions and Connections plan, which includes Automatic Crash Response, Turn-by-Turn Navigation, Vehicle Diagnostics and Stolen Vehicle Assistance.
- Standard XM Radio with a three-month trial.
With free maintenance and extensive customer service features, Lincoln and Cadillac are ready to offer you the luxury experience you deserve.
