Make these three things a part of your routine to help keep your new car looking clean and polished and make the most of your investment:
- Regularly wash the outside of your car, preferably once a week, and don’t forget to wash the wheels and tires, too. Use something soft – like a sponge – and soap made for washing a car. Dry your car with a soft cloth, not paper towels that can leave lint.
- Apply wax regularly after washing to help further protect your car from the elements and maintain that new car shine. Use a damp cloth or the manufacturer-supplied applicator and buff it with a soft towel to achieve a smooth shine.
- Keep the inside clean by cleaning it at least as often as you wash the outside of your car. Vacuum the floors, fabric upholstery, and floor mats. Wash rubber mats in soapy water. Wipe the dashboard, center console, steering wheel, doors, and any leather surfaces with a clean, damp cloth to remove dirt. Clean windows with glass cleaner.
