Cars and Music - Vote for Your Favorite - Cars and Identity

"Integration" - That is the word of the day.

Previously, we talked about how our cell phones and music devices are becoming more and more integrated with our cars. We are going to take things a step further and not only talk about how music and cars are integrated in our culture today, we are going to talk about integrating you with CarLocate. And to top it off, we are integrating both of those topics into one blog post. Confuse ya yet!?... Don't worry, the good stuff is below.

As we brought up yesterday, many of our readers and fellow car shoppers have integrated their creativity with photos and the CarLocate.com brand. You can check them out and vote for your favorites each day to help someone win a 58" Plasma TV!

For more voting, you can check out Lincoln's latest integration of music and their commercials. One of their latest commercials features a band called the Shiny Toy Guns and their cover of "Major Tom". Lincoln has turned to the public and allowed us to vote for what we want to hear in the next Lincoln commercial. Regardless whether you like any of the songs or not, it is an interesting concept! Check it out, you can even download some songs from their site for free!

Some of our forum members recently started chatting about cars in movies... On a completely different topic, think about how much of a role cars have played in the names and lyrics of songs!  There are bands actually named "Cars" and "The Hot Rods", to songs like "409" by the Beach Boys, "Low Rider" by War, "Brand New Car" by the Rolling Stones, "Chevrolet" by The Black Crowes (ZZ Top had one by that name, too), to "I'm in Love With My Car" by Queen.

On that note ("note", get it? hardy har), just imagine music videos from Snoop Dogg or ZZ Top WITHOUT featuring cars... it would completely change the landscape wouldn't it!? There have been arguments that "cars are no longer a social aspect of our lives or a part of our identity" and that people are far more interested in their "online identity"... I can agree that things have changed but definitely not gone away. Maybe some of us are just a little jaded because being a car enthusiast at heart and we enjoy everything from trips to the grocery to trips to another city, just as long as we are behind the wheel and playing some good music over the radio. There are more of you out there, right!?
