We love how automakers are integrating technology inside their new vehicles to make your driving experience safer and more enjoyable. This news from Chevrolet really caught our attention today. You’ll be able to listen to Pandora^® internet radio in your Chevy car!

When the new 2012 Chevrolet Equinox and 2012 Chevrolet Volt vehicles go on sale later this year, they’ll be the first to offer Chevy MyLink – a new feature that builds on the safety and security of OnStar and integrates online services like Pandora and Stitcher SmartRadio^®.

“There is a new generation of car buyers who don’t want to settle for mass market radio,” said Rick Scheidt, vice president of Chevrolet Marketing. “They want to create their own individual stations and have access to them wherever they are. Chevrolet vehicles have offered customers the ability to use portable media devices since 2006 and the introduction of MyLink takes media personalization to a new level. ”

MyLink adds stereo audio streaming and wireless control of smartphones, building on the voice-activated Bluetooth hands-free calling capability already offered in most Chevy vehicles. MyLink also includes a seven-inch, high-resolution, full-color touch screen display that makes media selection easy to navigate.

You’ll also still have access to AM/FM/XM tuners, CD player with MP3 playback, and auxiliary and USB inputs.

Ford MyKey^® technology just keeps getting better. Ford has announced new features for MyKey, including the ability for parents to block explicit satellite radio programming while their teens are driving. They now also can limit a car’s top speed to one of four different settings – 65, 70, 75, or 80 mph.

"Ford wants to give parents peace of mind that their kids are following practical household rules in the car," says Graydon Reitz, director, Ford Electrical and Electronic Systems Engineering. "Parents obviously like this type of feature, and many teens are okay with it when they hear parents may give them the keys more often if the car comes with a technology such as Ford's MyKey."

The new MyKey features will be standard in late 2011 on new Ford Taurus and Ford Explorer models. Eventually, the features will be available across a variety of other Ford and Lincoln cars.

Other MyKey features include the ability to limit the radio’s audio volume, a persistent seat belt reminder chime, and an earlier low fuel warning notice.

Hyundai Equus owners now have the ability to have important information about their car at their fingertips with Hyundai’s launch of the Equus Owner’s Manual App for iPad^®, iPhone, and iPod touch. The free app – which is geared toward owners and non-owners – also includes interactive demos, live service scheduling, video tutorials, and a location-based dealer locator.

"The Equus App is the ultimate owner's manual. Interactive text mingles with detailed photos and videos to provide rich and immersive explanations of Equus technology, in a very intuitive way," said John Krafcik, president and CEO, Hyundai Motor America.
