The 2010 Porsche 911 Turbo may look very similar to previous versions, but it’s got a whole new attitude under the hood in both power and efficiency.
Most notably, the 2010 911 Turbo features a new flat-six boxer engine – the first new engine in the 35-year history of the 911 Turbo. As a result, the 911 Turbo increases its horsepower by 20 for a total of 500 hp, while also increasing its fuel economy by 13 percent.
The new 911 Turbo engine combined with the new Porsche-Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (say that 3 times fast! -- or you could just use the abbreviated “PDK”) seven-speed dual clutch transmission allows you to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds and achieve a top speed of 194 mph. Of course, under more everyday driving conditions, the new engine with the PDK transmission will help you get an EPA estimated 17 mpg city and 25 mpg highway – and fewer speeding tickets.
The 2010 Porsche 911 Turbo now is available for sale at your local Porsche dealership. The Turbo Coupe and Turbo Cabriolet base prices start at $132,800 and $143,800, respectively.
Note: Porsche offers several other models of the 911, including the Carrerra, Carrerra S, Carrerra 4, Carrerra 4S, Targa 4, Targa 4S, and GT3.
