DAYTON, Ohio – June 1, 2011 – In the spirit of giving back to the local community, the CarLocate Crew recently participated in a clean up of the Carillon Historical Park in Dayton, Ohio. The Crew picked up litter and removed tree debris and small brush throughout the park. (Photos.)
"Our team has made a commitment to give back to our community and encourage a broader awareness of the environment beyond Earth Day," said Nicole Case, general manager of CarLocate.com. "The clean-up activity at Carillon Park is one more way that we're able to fulfill this commitment and improve our local surroundings."
With 25 historical buildings and hundreds of artifacts on exhibit, Carillon Historical Park recounts significant moments in the history of the Greater Dayton region. The park is home to the Deeds Carillon, one of Dayton's best-known landmarks and the largest carillon in Ohio. It is also the current home of the Callahan Building Clock (also known as the "Gem City Clock") that also once sat atop one of the former facilities of Reynolds and Reynolds, the parent company of CarLocate.com. The clean up at Carillon Park was coordinated with Dayton History, Montgomery County's official historical organization. In addition to Carillon Park, Dayton History also manages other local landmarks, including the Archive Center, Hawthorn Hill, and Patterson Homestead.
